Touch-type Read and Spell (TTRS)

TTRS is a multi-sensory, computer-aided learning programme for students with spelling, reading or writing difficulties. Highly successful in schools, colleges, and other centres around the country, now at the Oxfordshire Dyslexia Association Centre. All students are offered a free trial session.

The purpose of TTRS is to develop the literacy skills of students who have difficulties with reading, writing or spelling whilst they learn how to touch-type, at the same time increasing their confidence, self-esteem and motivation.

Learning is promoted by:

A mulit-sensory approach – seeing, hearing, speaking and touching.

A planned programme that is graded, structured and computerised

Immediate self-correction of errors and feedback

Success from the very first module, building greater motivation

Focus and support for a positive learning experience.

There are several levels to TTRS which students work through at their own pace, alongside a parent (or other adult). At the end of each level students are rewareded with a certificate. Students remain on the programme until all levels are completed or until they no longer wish to continue.
